Wrote an article on Riesling for Good Life magazine yesterday. On reflection, old vintage Grand Cru Riesling from Alsace, or top Mosel, are amongst the greatest wines in the world. I just got invited to taste a 1959 Wegeler in the Rheingau on Saturday, and you don’t get offers like that for Sauvignon Blanc or most other whites….

Had a corked bottle of Gewurz Grand Cru from Pfaffenheim today. I’m sick of cork…. too unreliable.

In Calgary today checking on our school and catching up with the lovely Marnie who runs it. We are still the top school here and she does a great job. Maybe we’ll start a wine club here too.

Decided with Olaf we will focus on Napa valley this year and make a DVD down there. Can’t wait to taste some of the great wines, but more importantly, interview some of the top people in wine, and soak up the sun.

This morning I was so excited that Cheval Blanc and Pichon and d’Yquem confirmed our visits for the wine tour in September. I’m thinking of calling it “A wine lovers wet dream” although that may be too racy…. We’ll visit the top places and the tour is almost ready to go. Waiting on Pavie and the bus company to reply.

Went to Firely, my retail client, who are very progressive and sales are rocketing along now. Always happy to see our clients do well because it means I must be helping somehow… They’ll go platinum with our new plans within a few months.

Got tickets to the Men’s moguls final, met with someone about teaching for us in Victoria, confirmed the trip to Germany later this week for Qatar Airways, and tasted 8 wines of which the Drouhin Beaune Premier Cru 05 and the Ch de Ferrand 2000 St Emilion Grand Cru were the best. And Alexis, my daughter, got her own pony today which is a HUGE deal and I’m so happy to see her on top of the world. Better get back to work to pay for it…
