Wine Club on Thursday March 24

Italian whites, top German Spatlese, Chianti and mini Super Tuscans, Ripasso and Amarone, new releases from Burrowing Owl and Laughing Stock, and a number of agents/wineries – that’s the line-up for the wine club this Thursday.

So hopefully you won’t leave thirsty. Although many of you seem to treat this as a warm-up for the evening out. Members can bring 1 friend again this month and pay cold hard at the door – $30. Otherwise join the club by signing-up on our website.

Tosh was the Cliquot Cup champ last month with a stunning identification – a direct hit, complete with Chateau name and vintage. Ch Gachon, St Emilion, 2000. Impressive stuff from the repeat winner. Go Tosh.

Some exciting annoucements coming from us in the next 2 weeks – watch this space.

New Years Resolutions

I suppose people say they were meant to be broken. I’m not sure if I have any left to break. Still, 2 months… well that’s just because you didn’t ask me 2 weeks into January. I said I would blog every day…

Lots has happened. The Mosel was amazing, and it’s now my favorite drink. This is partly because I really like the smell and taste of wine but not the side effects. So with this, you can drink more. Not rocket science.

Whitehorse was cold, -41C, but GREAT people up there. Friendly as can be. I like it there so much that I’m going again. The Yukon Liquor Board does a good job.

And the Middle East will be baking hot, as we prepare to head there. Qatar won major awards at Cellars in the Sky in 2011.

Our WSET courses are full, and we have 2 exciting announcements on that front. One is regarding a winemaker joining our team, and the other about a new location – and not one you would expect.

Anyway, just 2 spots left on the Tuscany tour so drop what you’re doing and come with us to the greatest wineries in this classic area. Details at
