James is the wine advisor to one of the world's leading luxury hotel groups, Fairmont
Hotels and Resorts. He has the industry contacts and the ability to put together
wine lists that are exciting for the discerning guest and profitable for the 5 star
hotelier. He has won several awards from Wine Spectator for his lists for the JW
Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa.
BC Government
The BC government's Liquor Distribution Branch contracts Fine Vintage as their Product Knowledge consultant.
Airlines
James is the consultant wine buyer for Qatar Airways (QR), ranked as one of the
three "5 star airlines" in the world. QR has been honored by the ultra prestigious
Cellars in the Sky with awards for Best First Class red, Best Sweet/Fortified wine,
and has also won Runner-Up for having the very best wine selection of any airline
in the sky. Today, Qatar Airways offers a stunning selection of wines in all classes.
Winery
Jak Meyer, Proprietor of Meyer Family Vineyards, works with James as his GM for the winery www.MFVwines.com . Together, they developed the winery from scratch. In May 2008 Steven Spurrier, one of the world's leading critics, described the wines as "the best dry white wines I have ever tasted from Canada". James has worked on several successful new winery development projects around the world, primarily in strategic planning.
Retail
A major consulting project is with the Innhouse group. Innhouse owns several multi-million dollar wine stores and James is responsible for selecting all of the wines with the store managers.
