Wine Tours
We run wine tours to Bordeaux, Tuscany, Spain, as well as wine cruises in the Med.
Fine Vintage is the only company offering wine tours designed by and hosted by Masters of Wine. When you take a tour with us you’ll get access to wineries that are not normally open to the public. You’ll have lunches and dinner with owners and winemakers at their wineries, and taste fine and rare wines that usually cost hundreds of dollars per bottle. Simply put, you’ll see and experience things that others don’t.
The reason for having access to these people and places is because of our buying activities. Whether it be for airlines, hotels, retailers, our schools, or The Fine Vintage Wine Club we are a serious trade buyer and so we are a client of many of the wineries we visit.
When we started running the tours we decided that we would only do things 1st class. That way, you’ll be happy and we’ll enjoy the trips too. We always stay at luxury hotels and eat at top restaurants. I spend considerable time planning the itineraries.
The tours are popular with all kinds of different people. One year we had a Playboy magazine Playmate of the Year! There are always a handful of serious wine students, such as people studying for the MW, MS or Diploma. But the majority of people are wine lovers who simply want to go on holiday to visit the great estates and taste some stunning wines. We always have a few people who are totally new to wine, and we make sure they are comfortable and get good explanations to questions they may have. There’s no need to be intimidated – it’s up to your hosts to ensure to you have a great trip. But most of all, we always seem to have a really fun group and there’s no shortage of laughs.
We run our tours in partnership with various local and international travel agencies. In Italy it’s my friend Filippo who owns the leading wine travel company in Tuscany. In Spain it’s Jeremy who is the King of wine travel there. For the cruises it’s Dean who one of the major travel agencies in Canada. So our tours are professionally organized and run in partnership with travel agencies.
For the land tours we usually take a maximum of 22 people. It’s small enough to be intimate, yet there are enough people to make it diverse and fun. The tours sometimes sell out very quickly, so if you're interested please contact us at info@finevintageltd.com to request a booking form.
