ABOUT THE TOUR & REGION

THE ICONIC WINERIES OF CHILE

We’ve meticulously crafted our Chilean wine tour for discerning travellers who crave exclusive access to renowned wineries, private tastings, and meals you’ll go home raving about. These are experiences you simply can’t get on your own.

We’ll meet at The Ritz hotel, your new home, in the upscale neighbourhood of El Golf in Santiago. We’ll be based here for the next 3 nights as we explore the surrounding regions by comfortable coach. We’ll travel to the charming countryside of Santa Cruz for the following 2 nights. Expect leisurely visits to the most famous, and prized Colchagua and Maipo Valleys.

With a welcome reception, lavish winery lunches each day, two dinners, and one free night, you’ll enjoy the camaraderie amongst fellow wine-lovers while also having time to yourself.

Kingston Family Vineyards

CASABLANCA & SAN ANTONIO VALLEYS

The program will start the night before with an in-depth overview of Chilean wines by your Master of Wine host. The next day will be dedicated to exploring Chile’s top cool-climate regions. You’ll visit Casa Marin for examples of Chile’s best coastal white wines before sitting down to a perfectly paired lunch. The day will come to a close at Kingston Vineyards with a tasting and dinner that will take your breath away. Looking out at the majestic Casablanca Valley vineyards while the sun sets is simply a joy.

ACONCAGUA

Now that we’ve eased in, we’ll travel to the home of some of Chile’s most age worthy, iconic red wines: Errázuriz. Here you’ll be treated to an intimate lunch prior to an exclusive tasting and tour of their winery and cellars. We’ll head to a boutique winery where the vigneron himself, Mauro Von Siebenthal, will guide you through his wines. Our return to Santiago will be in time for you to enjoy a full night to yourself.

Vina San Pedro

CACHAPOAL ANDES

Travelling south, and bidding Santiago goodbye, we’ll make our way to the land of high-elevation vineyards and structured, elegant Bordeaux-style blends. At Altair, you’ll have stunning views on a private tour complete with a traditional Chilean lunch. After checking into the countryside hotel, we will salute the sunset in Apalta with a memorable tasting of the iconic wines of Montes.

COLCHAGUA VALLEY

Today is devoted to a truly exclusive experience at one of the most revered estates: Clos Apalta by Lapostolle. A private tour of the vineyard and cellar will be followed by a tasting of the iconic wines. We will then be spoiled to an intimate lunch hosted by the winemaker, served with panoramic views over the estate’s rolling hills and century-old vines. In the afternoon, enjoy some leisure time to stroll Santa Cruz’s charming streets and explore the local culture. As sun sets, we gather for our farewell dinner under the stars in the breathtaking Ninquen vineyard, hosted by Benjamin Leiva, winemaker at a hidden gem in Colchagua, Montgras.

Lapostolle Clos Apalta

Koyle

LOS LINGUES

We couldn’t leave Colchagua without discovering its Andean side. In the high-altitude sub-region of Los Lingues, we’ll enjoy a special tasting at Koyle, one of South America’s leading biodynamic estates. It’s a charming farewell to the diversity and beauty of Colchagua.

MAIPO VALLEY

Here it is. The ‘Grand Cru’ of Chilean wines: Puente Alto, a subregion within the Maipo Valley.

The culmination of our tour will be a visit to Almaviva, the Rothschild’s property in Puente Alto, with an intimate and memorable lunch with the winemaker Michel Friou. Tasting the zenith of Chilean winemaking marks a perfect end to our program, before the coach brings you to Santiago.

TESTIMONIALS

Truly once in a lifetime experience

“Visiting Spain impressed us on absolutely every level. It is a country that not only produces quality wine, it has the culinary merit to match alongside a stunning countryside making it a very desirable destination for wine, food, and art aficionados alike. Without question, Fine Vintage’s tour elevated our experience to a level we simply would not have been able to achieve on our own. Exclusive winery access, excellent food pairings, first-rate accommodation, and the incredible depth of knowledge of our guides resulted in a truly once in a lifetime experience.”

ALLISON WALLACE, VANCOUVER, BC
Redefined “fun” for me!

“When I first met James and he told me he did wine tours, I thought it might be fun to go with someone who is as knowledgeable as he is. Then I signed up for Spain… and he redefined “fun” for me… we tasted, we nosed, we swirled, we danced, we sang, and we ATE… and along the way, somewhere between the fabulous hotels and the awe-inspiring vineyards and the heady aromas in the cellars, we became compadres of the grape, students of the moment, and lovers of those things that happen when it’s a carefree time in our lives. Take a tour with James…you will never be the same…”
